How to Choose a Technology for Effective Hi-tech and Electronics Manufacturing?

The pace that the electronics industry is at is unmatched. The top ten brands of electronics in the industries debuted hardly ten years ago. Hence, this industry is growing at a crazy speed that you need to match!   Electronics manufacturing is ideal for tech-savvy people who can be as flexible and fast as it demands. Backing up with the right technology is the most important thing. Having a unified solution like Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Electronics Manufacturing can help you beat electronics manufacturing challenges and competitions.   Electronics are subjected to faults the most, therefore, their manufacturing can become even challenging. With shrinking operating margins, global competition and innovations are lowering the prices. Hence, it becomes a necessity to become more cost-effective to balance profit.    It gets even tougher to comply with the ever-changing customer preferences. Therefore, EMS companies and contract manufacturers have to establish a New Product Introduction (NPI) process. Closed-loop communication among sales, engineering, and manufacturing are essential to meet the dynamic demands of the target audience.   Economic dynamics and customer cyclical demands cause production fluctuations. Customers’ preferences influence the production of a device or a certain brand on a granular level. Hence, effective lean capabilities should be established to keep up with the demands.  When it comes to electronics manufacturing, sustainability is the first thing that comes to mind. Having new regulations popping up concerning social responsibilities, companies are getting accountable for sustainable production. Since E-waste is a hot topic nowadays, the federation is more concerned about the impact it leads on the environment.  How To Spot the Perfect Technology for Hi-tech and Electronics Manufacturing?  While choosing the right technology for your electronics manufacturing you need to make sure it is a centralized solution, which provides all the necessities within the same platform. Check out groundbreaking factors the ideal software solution must-have, which never ditch the manufacturers. Hit demands to the and operates business more effectively with a suitable technology such as Microsoft Dynamics:   Component Purchasing and Sourcing   Component sourcing includes locating, managing, and acquisition components of each important input necessary to operate your business. It may include raw material, parts labor, and production in all its forms, services, and location.   Purchasing is one of the most crucial parts of any manufacturing industry. Make sure the software allows organizations to automate their source to pay cycle comprehensively.   The software must manage everything related to the supplier. From sparrow messages to quotations, it must cover everything. It must manage, supplier, and keep a keen eye on the stock level.    Bill of Material Management   It is a must-have feature in the software solution you are about to acquire. Bill of Material is a full-fledged list of components acquired addressing the name and details of the manufacturer. BOM (Bill of Materials) is a comprehensive list of raw materials, components, parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies placed in a hierarchical order to produce a single unit of products.   The better and more detailed the Bills of Management are, the better manufacture-oriented decisions you can make with the real-time accurate data at hand. It allows production, R&D, procurement, logistics, pricing, and sales analysis within a centralized platform.     Integrated Inventory Management   The inventory management system must integrate with the ERP system to minimize mistakes and make faster and more logical decisions. It suggests the most efficient stocking methods for your inventory and enhances internal business operations overall. You can claim a well-structured reporting mechanism with ERP systems within your store and warehouse. This helps manufacturers to plan their production accordingly. You can tackle common inventory management issues and minimize overhead costs.    Production Planning and Sourcing   Resource planning is considered one of the most effective planning methods of all. It includes operational planning, financial planning and has a simulation capability to answer. The planning includes machine hours, man hours, storage, standard cost dollars, inventory levels, shipping levels, and so on.   Visual Quality Inspection   An automatic visual quality inspection boosts the manufacturing process and minimizes the manual efforts of your employees. Having this software complementing with the right hardware, defect detection gets easier. Only a few software service providers such as Trident Information System provide this service. Inspect dimensions, color, the texture of the component and remove the defective pieces right away.    Why Trident Information Systems?  Being the Gold Partner of Microsoft Dynamics 365, we have been serving numerous successful business ventures. Need of Business Intelligence for Business Growth & Decision Making

The age of technological advancement has turned regular lives to a completely new page, let alone businesses. Companies these days can access Business Intelligence Tools and related strategies to tap into their customer’s mindset and read patterns. These insights are no less than a treasure for a business; this data can easily transmute to loyalty programs.   So, What Exactly is Business Intelligence?  Business Intelligence is a compilation of technologies, tools, practices, and applications that helps an organization collect, integrate, analyze, and display the raw data in the form of insightful and action-driven business data. BI (Business Intelligence) is comprised of the following aspects:   Data Mining   Querying and Reporting   Analytical Processing   BI aims at helping business managers, cooperative executives, and other operational heads to make more insightful and logical decisions. BI is a great tool for cost-cutting, identifying new business opportunities, and shunning inefficient business operations.   However, not everyone is benefiting from the same. Owing to time and budget limitations, some managers perceive that BI might not be worth the investment. Some may consider it as saving on their budget. However, little do they realize it causes more harm than good to a business.  You might also address it as a ‘leaky bucket’ the bucket represents your business and water represents your customers. Considering the fact that you cannot add more customers since your bucket might overflow. BI, like Microsoft Power BI Integration, collects and compiles data on your sales and customers so you can see customer loss as it happens.   You may also end up understocking. A warehouse manager can develop a business instinct for company trends. However, instincts are just subjective. You may end up understocking or overstocking inventory without having current market analytics and proper knowledge of customer demands.   This is where BI comes forward and plays its part. You no longer have to rely on the quarterly or monthly reports since you can get real-time data and analysis on what customers are demanding so you could stock in balance.   One of the major drawbacks of not using a BI is the skyrocketing expense of your resources, staff to manage your IT department. With BI you can print and share the relevant reports yourself. This saves your time and budget on the IT department, and they can do something more productive instead.   How does Business Intelligence Help in Business Growth?  Business Intelligence serves the businesses the purpose they are derived from in the modern business scenarios. A Power BI Integration can help your business with   Making more effective and insightful decisions  Optimizing Internal business operations   Increasing operative efficiency   Better Return on Investments Upper hand over the competition   Identifying Current Market Trends   Spotting Business Problems  More Insightful Decisions   If you are a business owner or at the managerial level, you may want to stay current with the latest updates. Having data at hand is not enough, even worse if it is all scattered. A Business Intelligence Integration helps your business data get structured and better analyzable. Having a centralized system that keeps your business data up-to-data leads to more insightful and better decision-making. It directly impacts your team performance, productivity, sales cycles, customer product or services preferences, and revenues.   Better Business Visibility   With the Power BI, you can have better control over your business. Gone are the days where you had to skim through massive data logs. This technology allows you to have it all in one go. It aims at providing better insights into your business so you can identify the areas that need more attention. It illuminated all your business aspects and helped you make better strategies and optimize internal business operations.   Boosted Productivity  With centralized data, transmit inputs across the management via the cloud, and cut time on the administration. The management doesn’t have to dial their office and ask for the necessary data manually. All they have to do is add their data to the application and they are good to go. No need to put in the extra effort. They can easily get rid of bottlenecks, automate their daily tasks, redefine their business implementation processes, be more organized and prioritize their to-do tasks with no extra manual efforts.  Better ROI   Every business runs on profit and expects a good Return on Investment since it encourages them to start generating extra income and scale a bit further. Business Intelligence Tools help a business collect, integrate, and analyze a bulk of data and present it in a more readable and logical format without eating too much time. It helps the decision-makers to create relevant sales-oriented strategies and draw more customers in. This entire process plays a vital role in providing a good customer experience. Also, it impacts how they carry out their after-sales services.    Business Future Planning   Investing in BI enhances a business’s efficiency while identifying market trends and customers’ purchasing patterns. As soon as an organization masters reading their customer’s purchasing pattern, it can easily compare their old buying algorithm with the one BI has generated. By doing so, they can attain better customer knowledge and optimally utilize their resources.   Competitive Advantage   Above all, the most substantial advantage BI can offer your company is analyzing how your competition is executing its strategies. Having such data shared as dashboards, you can easily create more effective blueprints than your competitors. Tracking your competition is as important as understanding your customers and their spending patterns.   Final Words   Business Intelligence Tools have become one of the business necessities. Those who do not recognize its value face certain losses. It becomes hard for them to keep up with their competition and retain their customers. You can opt for Power BI Implementation Partners such as Trident Information Systems. We provide one of the Best Power BI Consulting Services. For further queries and a demo, contact us.

How to Create an Intelligent and Adaptable Supply Chain Management?

Before the pandemic, flexibility in the supply chain was a luxury, a differentiator. Now we realize that it may be the key between survival and failure. While we are not anticipating another event of magnitude and speed with COVID, which impacted supply chains, it can be expected that our industries will continue to revolutionize. With the right technology such as Dynamics 365 for Supply Chain, you can present yourself as a new competitor or business model, the most important thing will be to have the flexibility to navigate unknown seas.   The pandemic has undoubtedly been an event that has transformed the world. Its drastic arrival, the uncertainty it generated, and the continued speculation about what a new normal will has had us guessing the direction in which we should continue as companies. More than anything, the crisis evidenced our ability to react quickly. Those businesses that were prepared and could adapt succeeded, those who did not face the harsh reality: they are not flexible. There are various challenges that the supply chain comes across such as:     Cost Management: Costing plays a vital role in supply chain management, especially in the current era where the cost of energy, raw material, and labor has increased due to economic constraints. If the cost is not properly done, it gets hard to keep up with continuous production and providing customers with excellent quality products at affordable rates.   Unforeseen Delays: It might be easier to procure materials and products than delivering them. As one of the major and most common issues in supply chain management, you are most likely to face delayed deliveries which are going to impact your business in one way or another. You may even up deteriorate your market reputation or even worse, your customers might hop on to your competitors in search of better services.   Improper Forecasting Techniques: You cannot expect a calculator and speculation to be a comprehensive demand forecasting toolset. If you are still holding up to these stale and outdated methods, you are much likely to encounter losses. There is an urgent need to adopt a solution that offers smart and reliable tools to make demand forecasts.    Inventory Management: Lack of visibility of your inventory and being unaware of your inventory levels can cause serious obstacles. Even with the technology available, many businesses are still following outdated inventory management which often provides inaccurate data.   Beef Up Your Supply Chain with Microsoft Dynamics 365  In current scenarios, the best way to upgrade your supply chain management is to adopt a unified Supply Chain ERP Software such as Dynamics 365 for Supply Chain, it has all the flexibility and agility you need to get rid of these issues within the same environment. It is recommended to upgrade your current ERP to the cloud and reap maximum benefits. You can upgrade your Supply chain with the help of the following measures:    Get Real-Time Visibility    Visibility is as important for your business as profit. Having a disrupted information flow from one of the supply chains to another can lead to chaotic outcomes such as poor customer services, excessive investment in inventory, revenue loss, and so on. This is also known as the “bullwhip effect.” Having better data matching the actual demand and supply can reduce the bullwhip effects to a great extent. This works for both internal and external company effects.   D365 for Supply Chain is a suitable supply chain software that can extract real-time data and present it in the shape of graphical dashboards for a better simple interpretation.   Adopt Smart Inventory Management   Managing inventory is one of the most crucial tasks of all time. Adopting advanced inventory management technology can eliminate the risk of storing excess inventory, obsolescence and enhance flexibility and responsiveness. Microsoft Dynamics 365 for the supply chain offers a set of tools and data for effective inventory management. You can have first-hand smooth and effective inventory control.   Make Replenishment Strategies    Inventory replenishment is also known as stock replenishment, which refers to moving the inventory from reserve storage to primary storage and then to picking sites. Keep in mind that replenishment might refer to both raw materials as well as the product. Adopt suitable inventory replenishment methods and keep up with the balanced inventory level which is crucial to provide customer satisfaction. Get an appropriate ERP for the supply chain to make replenishment strategies. Preferably pick a unified solution to save yourself from excessive costs and technical complications.    Plan and Forecast Demand    Consider real or projected customer requirements and distribution networks to plan and forecast demands. Adopt forecasting techniques suitable for each classified product. Associate sales and operational planning to assess future demands. Spot customer demand driving factors such as promotions, discounts, product mix, etc. to strengthen future demands. Compare the actual results with the forecast to make necessary adjustments. Also, share the statistics on demand with the supplier and customers.   Optimize Inventory Management    Upgrading to a smart technology such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 to optimize inventory management, on ground level, inventory management seeks answers to three simple questions, what needs to be stocked, its quantity band, when does it needs to be ordered. Upgrading to such technology you can get better insights into your inventory using the actionable intelligence from the previous sales, supply chain, and purchasing data.   Improve Product Quality    With an increase in product complexity and the emergence of product variations, the supply chain is influenced globally. With Microsoft Dynamics 365 you can get better control and visibility into the lifecycle and evolution of the product. Automate the product release and acceptance operations and make the right people are at the right place to take orders and make modifications.   Conclusion   Being a massive operational task, supply chain management is prone to multiple challenges. However, there are suitable solutions available in the markets such as Dynamics 365 for  Supply Chain. We recommend choosing a well-experienced partner such as Trident Information Systems, one of the oldest and most renowned Supply Chain ERP Software Companies. We have been serving multiple businesses for the past 2 decades. 3 aspects to consider when migrating to Dynamics 365 in the cloud—it’s like building your next dream house

Migrating your on-premises business applications to the cloud can be like building your very own dream home. It’s incredibly exciting and will be perfect for your unique needs but can feel daunting when going at it alone. Ensuring you have a strong plan is crucial. Let’s explore this metaphor a bit more as we examine three critical components in your cloud journey and how you can leverage the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Migration Program all along the way. Much like a top-notch architect and contractor makes building your dream home easier, the Dynamics 365 Migration Program enables on-premises customers to simplify and accelerate their move to the cloud. It offers end-to-end migration support working directly with Microsoft cloud architects and specialized migration partners. The program offers access to a no-charge migration assessment, pricing offers, tools, and migration support for qualified customers. Get expert help through the Dynamics 365 Migration Program to move from Dynamics AX or Dynamics CRM to the cloud. Before you “break ground” on your cloud migration, however, there are three core aspects to consider—budget, requirements, and location. 1. Budget: When building a dream home, ensuring you have a good understanding of your true budget is usually a good place to start. A reasonable place to begin is to compare your housing costs today with your future costs. Maybe you are renting or making mortgage payments on an existing house and you want to compare your current payments to your dream home mortgage. Chances are this new mortgage cost along with the one-time down payment may look overwhelming compared to your current rent or mortgage, but this is an incomplete view. It is incredibly important to factor in all of the service costs involved in maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of your current residence. This applies to on-premises costs as well—it is crucial to calculate the total cost of ownership, including IT costs, upgrade costs, and server costs to avoid any surprises. See the Forrester TEI study for Dynamics AX and Dynamics CRM to learn what other customers have found when making the cost comparison. 2. Requirements: Once you have a clear line of sight to the budget requirements, next comes the fun part—the design and specifications of your new house. When you are thinking about your future needs, why limit yourself to old ways of doing things? What about your partner’s, kids’, and pets’ changing needs? Your toddler will grow up to be a teenager in no time and will need a study room, or maybe your partner wants to start working from home and needs a quiet office space. Is all of your old stuff going to your new house, or might it make sense to get rid of the old boxes that you haven’t opened in the last 10 years? Likewise, when migrating to the cloud, it is an opportunity to refresh, evolve, or completely get rid of your old business practices that don’t make sense anymore. Do you still want that big file cabinet when you can store things securely online? To fully understand what it will take for you to migrate your existing on-premises data, customizations, integrations, and functionality to the cloud, you should sign-up for a no-charge, no-obligation Microsoft migration assessment. The assessment will give you deep insights into what it will take in terms of time and effort to migrate to the cloud. Apply today for the Microsoft migration assessment to get started. 3. Location: Your ideal dream house should be in a spot where you feel safe and have the option to expand your living space when needed. Some neighborhoods, for example, are simply preferred because of the safety they offer in addition to the flexible zoning laws that allow future expansion. Maybe you want to build that second floor or mother-in-law suite in the future when your family grows or add those privacy hedges you have always wanted. Isn’t it great to always have that option and only invest when you are ready? With Dynamics 365 you can access cutting-edge technology, control costs, and improve IT productivity by migrating to the cloud. Dynamics 365 offers physical, infrastructure, and operational security with Microsoft Azure. It also offers scaling to the desired capacity to accommodate a variable number of users. Learn more about all the benefits of migrating from Dynamics AX and Dynamics CRM to Dynamics 365 in the cloud. Finally, when considering building that future dream house, it can be exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time. Migrating your on-premises enterprise resource planning (ERP) or customer relationship management (CRM) to the cloud is no different with the same or more anxiety associated. It is very important to fully consider all the costs, design aspects, and platform features before you can determine the best migration path for your company. Manufacturer unifies data and gains agility in finance and supply chain with Dynamics 365

Bel Fuse designs, manufactures, and markets electronic circuits products at 24 manufacturing locations across North America, Europe, and Asia. The company’s existing enterprise resource planning solution was highly customized and expensive to maintain, so it decided to deploy Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. Bel Fuse unified data and can now more easily manage its supply chain operations and finance processes, gaining more agility to respond quickly to changes in the market or its suppliers. “With Dynamics 365, we save nearly USD2 million per year in IT service and support fees compared to our previous, highly customized solution.” Mark Hodkinson: Vice President of Finance for the Bel Power Solutions Group Essential step in the supply chain A typical consumer might interact with Bel Fuse products and not even know it. The manufacturer makes the components that power, protect, and connect electronic circuits in products we use every day. Bel Fuse is usually in the middle of the supply chain, relying on smaller parts from its suppliers before passing components on to the manufacturers that create finished products. Founded in 1949, the company has grown significantly in the last 20 years through acquisitions. It has seven business groups, including Bel Power Solutions, which it acquired in 2014. Bel Power Solutions makes the power conversion products for server and storage networks at large server farms and in industrial products like the power sources in hybrid electric vehicles and trains. To manage its enterprise resource planning (ERP) processes, Bel Power Solutions used a legacy version of Oracle that was highly customized and difficult to update. The version was outdated and the month-to-month costs and support for the solution were expensive. With different business units using different ERP systems, Bel Fuse wanted to find an affordable solution to unify the company’s finance and operations processes, starting with Bel Power Solutions. Bel Fuse also needed a solution that would support its material requirements planning (MRP) process, a production planning, scheduling, and inventory control system to manage its manufacturing processes. “Our MRP processing goes in both directions—we require a full dataset and forecasting of what’s coming to us and what’s going out,” says Scott Hasterlik, Director Global IT at Bel Fuse. “We have power assets with 500 components and 65,000 SKUs, so we needed a robust solution to share nonstandard information quickly.” An integrated solution for finance and operations After careful evaluation, Bel Fuse found that Microsoft Dynamics 365 had the right capabilities at the right price for the company’s needs. With Dynamics 365, Bel Fuse had a single system for the first time, the ability to report globally, and a solution that was intuitive to use and easy to add users. Bel Fuse uses Dynamics 365 Finance to automate its financial operations, monitor performance in real time, predict future outcomes, and make data-driven decisions. For operations, the company deployed Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, which includes an MRP function and AI to improve visibility across its global supply chain and to improve manufacturing productivity. To aid the quick, seamless deployment process, Bel Fuse worked with Flintfox, a Gold competency member of the Microsoft Partner Network. “Flintfox jumped in, understood what we wanted to accomplish, and helped us move forward on budget,” says Hasterlik. “Flintfox has been a fantastic partner and is still our partner of record.” A wide range of Bel Power Solutions employees now rely on the Finance and Supply Chain Management business applications. Users include staff in customer service, quality assurance, demand and product returns, manufacturing and supply chain ordering, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and engineering. “From decision makers to factory floor managers, everyone is working in Dynamics 365, staying connected and accessing valuable data,” says Stefan Naude, General Manager, Slovakia, at Bel Fuse. Reduced costs, disparate systems eliminated Bel Fuse accomplished its central goal—to reduce the high costs of its previous ERP system while bringing data together in one solution. The company built the capacity it needed without a lot of customizations, helping ensure that the solution would stay flexible in the future. “With Dynamics 365, we save nearly USD2 million per year in IT service and support fees compared to our previous, highly customized solution,” says Mark Hodkinson, Vice President of Finance for the Bel Power Solutions Group at Bel Fuse. Bel Fuse also reduced costs because it now has the tools to fulfill more of its own finance needs internally. For example, a Bel Fuse engineering and distribution site in Italy previously paid an outside firm to do its accounting. “It was easy to move the Italy site into Dynamics 365 and transfer all that work internally to our team in Slovakia,” says Hodkinson. “Now our own team manages the facility’s day-to-day finances even though they aren’t located in Italy. With a common system, we have better access to our own internal talent.” Increased visibility and agility With Dynamics 365, Bel Fuse gained a more global view of financial data and can perform more accurate forecasting. “I always view orders and revenue from a global perspective because the locations are all connected and have so many intercompany transactions,” says Hodkinson. “I rely on Dynamics 365 to help me make sense of complex financial histories to stay on top of complicated billing and payment processes at multiple sites.” With ERP data now centralized and easy to access in the cloud, Bel Fuse can respond with more agility to complex, changing circumstances. When employees in Italy, China, and other countries needed to work from home during the COVID-19 crisis, the company was able to effectively run remote finance and supply chain operations. “We kept all our finance functions moving forward even though we don’t have anyone physically in the office,” says Hodkinson. “We were impressed that our team was able to get everything done while working from home for the first time, and I think that speaks to how intuitive Dynamics 365 Finance was for our team.” As a mid-chain supplier, Bel Fuse is committed to continuing its operations on time and not

Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Customer Service

Learn how Singapore’s biggest transportation network operator doubled their productivity and delivers faster, friendlier service. Providing over one billion rail and bus journeys per year, SMRT is Singapore’s biggest transport network operator. In end 2016, the company started using cloud-based Dynamics 365 CRM service management features across its train, bus and taxi services to power new service innovations, and help staff members deliver better customer service. With Dynamics’ inbuilt automation features, SMRT employees are managing 2.3 times more cases than before. And with a cloud-based approach, SMRT can bring innovation projects to life in less than 3 months. Today, SMRT is powerfully equipped to deliver on its core responsibility: world-class transport that is safe, reliable and customer-centric. Every transport network has its challenges, but Singapore‘s SMRT has enormous responsibilities. As provider of the principal public-transport network in Singapore, it is SMRT’s job to sustain Singapore’s world-class reputation for efficiency and customer service. “We have 102 train stations and over 1,400 buses, and deliver over one billion journeys per year,“ says Dave Ong, Head, Passenger Service Department, SMRT. “Our mission is to enhance the lives of Singapore citizens with a transport system that is safe, reliable and customer-centric.“ The Cloud Journey to Better Customer Service and Innovations SMRT is always looking for ways to enhance customer interactions, and in 2016, decided that the Cloud could help. On any given day, more than 1,000 employees are involved in the process of managing customer enquiries, compliments, complaints and feedback. These busy staff also have to pursue hundreds of ‘lost and found‘ cases each month. SMRT wanted to help these employees deliver a faster and friendlier service. “Today, customers contact us through many different ways — emails, calls, faxes, letters, Whatsapp, Facebook and SMS,“ says Mr. Ong. “We need a case-handling system that helps us manage new processes for handling all these interactions, and a reporting system that helps us visualise our performance in real time.“ SMRT also wanted to make it easier to engage and manage external stakeholders on a succession of new initiatives known as innovation projects. Cloud technologies had the potential to help SMRT create, share and secure new business applications without having to purchase additional servers. “When setting up an innovation project, we want a system that would allow us to adapt and be more creative,“ says Mr. Ong. One-Stop Customer Service and Engagement In 2016, SMRT selected the cloud-based customer-relationship management solution, Dynamics CRM Online – which is now part of Dynamics 365 – to manage SMRT customer service and engagements at the enterprise level. The cloud-based solution provided convenience and flexibility to more than 1,000 employees, reduced capital costs and accelerated rollouts. With the help of Customer Capital Consulting, SMRT used Dynamics 365 to create a single, integrated system for managing all customer interactions. The new solution aggregates all feedbacks, regardless of which channel the feedback arrives at and uses automatic workflows to assign the case to the relevant team. SMRT Customer Relations employees use inbuilt features to track progress and turnaround times. System aids, such as reminders, help prompt everyone involved to take action when it‘s required. Checkpoints help employees manage the different types of cases, and see that they are on track. Meanwhile, reporting tools provide accurate updates to managers and external stakeholders. A Force Driving Enterprise Innovations SMRT has also used Dynamics 365 to create new business applications to support their new ‘Adopt-a-Station‘ initiative for school student ambassadors. With cloud-based workflows and document repositories, SMRT staff can centrally manage applications, correspondence, approvals and activities-tracking. Mr. Ong says that moving to the cloud presented no problem for the project, and the new application was put to use according to the planned schedule. “The Customer Capital Consulting team was flexible and accommodated our concerns to the best of their ability,” says Mr. Ong. “They were willing to go the extra mile, including conducting training so that our staff were comfortable with the new systems. They worked collaboratively and closely with the SMRT team to meet deadlines and completed the project on time.” Productivity is More than Doubled with Dynamics 365 With the help of Cloud technologies, SMRT is achieving Enterprise Digital Transformation where it’s vital — Customer Service. Today, more than 1,000 SMRT employees across different locations in Singapore use Dynamics 365 to ensure that customer enquiries and interactions are handled quickly and professionally. With its principal, public-facing systems in the cloud, SMRT can bring new initiatives to life without the cost and delays of investing in new infrastructure. As a result, the service-oriented staff at SMRT are better able to handle more cases. Automated workflows reduce the manual effort of sorting and directing interactions. Meanwhile, dashboard reporting helps the team and the management of SMRT to ensure that customer cases are resolved within prescribed timelines. “Our ability to handle public feedback volume has increased 2.3 times,“ says Mr. Ong. “Dynamics 365 reduces manual effort and frees up customer-service staff to handle cases with a personal touch. This helps us achieve our strategic goal of making all interactions with our contact centre more personal.” Innovations Made Simple With Dynamics 365, SMRT can accelerate the pace of innovation within the organisation. With customer-ready tools – such as workflow engine, standard user-interface design and dashboard tools – SMRT does not have to source, buy, learn and deploy different solutions to get new capabilities up and running. Managers can now build, test and use new applications fast. “Dynamics 365 effectively reduces the time it takes us to evaluate, implement and roll out new innovations,” says Mr Ong. “This means we have a faster time-to-market for new projects. In addition, we save money by leveraging our existing investments.” Innovation Projects Up and Running in Three Months Today, SMRT can quickly build the systems it needs to support a new innovation project. rolling them out in just a few months, which is far faster than before. These new applications are cloud-based, so SMRT does not need to invest in new infrastructure.
